By downloading, installing, or using the Splito mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Splito is a mobile application that allows users to:

• Track personal and group expenses
• Split bills and expenses among group members
• Manage settlements and payments between friends
• Upload and store receipt images
• Set reminders for expenses and payments

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use Splito, you must create an account using:

• Google Sign-In
• Apple Sign-In, or
• Email and Password

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Providing accurate and complete information
• Updating your information as needed

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse or misuse the App

4. User Conduct

4.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Splito only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Upload malicious content or viruses
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload false or misleading expense information
• Use the App to collect personal information about other users
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation

4.2 User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload (such as receipt images). By uploading content, you grant us a license to store, display, and process that content as necessary to provide the App's functionality.

5. Group Features

5.1 Group Creation and Management

• Group creators have administrative privileges
• Group members can view shared expenses and balances
• You are responsible for the accuracy of expenses you add

5.2 Group Invitations

• You may invite others to join your groups
• By joining a group, members consent to sharing expense data with other members
• Group data remains visible to other members even after you leave

5.3 Settlements

• Splito calculates suggested settlements based on expense data
• Actual payments are made outside the App
• We are not responsible for actual money transfers between users

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Rights

The App, including its design, features, content, and functionality, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

6.2 Your Rights

You retain all rights to your personal content uploaded to the App.

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Disclaimers

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that:

• Expense calculations are error-free
• Settlement suggestions are always accurate
• Exchange rates are real-time or accurate

8.3 Availability

We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be available at all times
• The App will be free from errors or bugs
• Data synchronization will always be immediate

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Splito and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Posting updated Terms in the App
• Sending a notification through the App

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nepal, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through:

1. Informal negotiation - Contact us first to resolve the issue
2. Binding arbitration - If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the App.
